Hilltop Lakes Chapel Church

Client: Crosspointe Church Architects

Location: Houston – Texas

Surface area: 19,420 SF

Located approximately two hours north of Houston, Texas, Hilltop Lakes Chapel is a thoughtfully designed 19,420 square foot education addition to the church, emphasizing both functionality and structural integrity. Our team provided comprehensive MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) and structural design services, ensuring that the building meets the needs of its community while adhering to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The two-story layout not only enhances the educational experience but also integrates seamlessly with the chapel’s existing architecture.

In our structural design, we conducted rigorous loading analyses—including wind, seismic, dead, and live loads—to ensure the building’s resilience. Detailed calculations and modeling were performed, culminating in a comprehensive engineering report that outlines the structural analysis and foundation design. Additionally, we produced an array of drawings covering everything from foundation plans to structural details, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes and regulations. Our MEP design included extensive electrical layouts, mechanical ventilation systems, and plumbing networks, all tailored to the client’s specifications. Safety was a top priority, as demonstrated by our fire protection planning, which included fire life safety plans and sprinkler system designs, guaranteeing a secure environment for all who gather at Hilltop Lakes Chapel.

East Pool Deck – Structural Assessment & Damage Review

Client: Envoy Point East Condominium Association

Location: St. Petersburg, Florida

Service: Structural Assessment & Damage Review

GDI Engineering performed a complete structural assessment of the East Pool Deck at Envoy Point East after the association reported cracking, settlement, and visible deterioration. Our team documented the condition of the concrete deck, including spalling, joint separation, uneven surfaces, and worn materials.

We completed a detailed site review, captured representative photos, and provided an engineering report outlining findings and recommended repairs. This evaluation gives the HOA a clear understanding of existing damage and supports informed planning for maintenance and structural improvements.

Client: Hayden Home Designs

Location: Routt County, CO

Surface area:

GDI Engineering provided comprehensive structural design services for a residential deck addition in Routt County, Colorado. The project involved designing a safe and durable wood-framed deck that complies with the International Building Code (IBC) and National Design Specification (NDS) for Wood Construction.
Our scope included full design and detailing of the deck’s load-bearing system, connections, and foundation to ensure long-term stability and performance. The design considered existing soil data from a previous home expansion to maintain consistency with earlier construction work. Through collaboration with Hayden Home Designs, we ensured a seamless integration of the new structure with the existing house and a clear, permit-ready set of construction documents.

For the MEP scope, GDI is delivering a full HVAC layout, load considerations, duct sizing, electrical service and paneling, lighting design, circuit planning, receptacles, outdoor electrical components, plumbing supply and DWV routing, hot water systems, and all fixture schedules.

In parallel, our structural engineering team is preparing 10 structural drawing sheets and 40 calculation sheets, including load-bearing analysis, foundation systems, roof and floor framing, bracing, connections, and structural detailing based on the architectural concept and site layout.

This combined MEP + Structural package ensures the DOPF Residence is safe, energy-efficient, and fully compliant with IBC, NDS, ACI, and local Colorado requirements. The design supports a high-end residential environment appropriate for Aspen Valley’s climate and terrain.
